Description
Function of the Auxiliary Fan Belt
The auxiliary fan belt (serpentine belt or drive belt) drives engine accessories such as the alternator, water pump, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor. A worn belt causes squealing noise, especially on startup or in wet conditions, and may slip under load. A snapped auxiliary belt causes immediate loss of charging, power steering, and air conditioning, and can cause overheating if it drives the water pump.
Why order it from Partszar
A worn drive belt slips, squeals and eventually snaps, and when it goes the alternator, the power steering and often the water pump stop with it, usually far from home. It is a small part with a big job. Fitted fresh, the squeal is gone and everything it drives keeps turning.
