Description
Function of the Throttle Body
The throttle body controls the amount of air entering the engine based on the accelerator pedal position. It contains a butterfly valve that opens and closes to regulate airflow, directly controlling engine power output. A dirty or faulty throttle body causes erratic idle, hesitation, stalling, poor throttle response, and a check engine light.
