Function of the Thermostat

The thermostat holds coolant inside the engine until it reaches working temperature and then opens, at 80 to 84 degrees C on this engine, to let coolant circulate through the radiator. A thermostat stuck closed overheats the engine within minutes and a thermostat stuck open keeps it cold, raising fuel consumption and wear. Replace it whenever the cooling system is drained for the two-yearly coolant change or when the temperature gauge behaves abnormally.

Fits the GW4G15 1.5 VVT petrol engine family as used in the GWM C10, GWM C20R, GWM C30, GWM CB150, GWM Florid, GWM M4 and Haval H1, and also the GW4G15B and GW4G15T turbo variants in the Haval H2, Haval H6 1.5 and GWM C50.
