Description
Function of the Clutch Fork
The clutch fork is a lever mechanism that pushes the release bearing against the pressure plate diaphragm spring to disengage the clutch. When you press the clutch pedal, hydraulic pressure moves the fork, which in turn presses the bearing against the pressure plate. A worn or broken clutch fork causes a soft or spongy clutch pedal, difficulty disengaging the clutch, grinding gears, and clutch drag.
