Description
Function of the Pilot Bearing
The pilot bearing supports the tip of the gearbox input shaft where it inserts into the rear of the crankshaft. It allows the input shaft to rotate independently of the crankshaft when the clutch is disengaged. A worn pilot bearing causes noise when the clutch pedal is depressed, difficulty shifting into gear, and clutch drag. It should always be replaced during clutch or flywheel service as it is only accessible with the gearbox removed.
Why order it from Partszar
A slipping clutch, a clicking CV joint or a torn boot is a warning, not an inconvenience. Ignore it and it takes the flywheel, the drive shaft or the gearbox with it. Sort it now and it is one part, not a driveline rebuild.
