Function of the Gearbox Mount

The gearbox mount secures the gearbox to the vehicle’s subframe, absorbing vibration and preventing excessive drivetrain movement. It uses rubber or hydraulic damping elements to isolate gearbox vibration from the cabin. A worn gearbox mount causes excessive vibration, clunking during gear changes, drivetrain movement under acceleration or braking, and premature wear of other components.
