Description
Function of the Inner CV Joint
The inner CV joint connects the drive shaft to the gearbox output, allowing the shaft to move in and out (plunge) as the suspension travels. This sliding motion accommodates changes in drive shaft length during suspension compression and extension. A worn inner CV joint causes vibration during acceleration, clunking sounds over bumps, and can eventually fail completely.
