Description
Function of the Crankshaft Sprocket
The crankshaft sprocket transfers rotational force from the crankshaft to the timing chain or belt, driving the camshaft at half the crankshaft speed. This synchronisation ensures valves open and close at precisely the right moment in the combustion cycle. A worn sprocket causes timing chain slack, valve timing errors, engine noise, and reduced performance.
Why order it from Partszar
A timing belt or chain gives no second warning. When it lets go, on most modern engines the pistons meet the valves and a routine service becomes an engine rebuild. Replaced on time, and always together with the tensioner, it is the cheapest insurance the engine has.
