Description
Function of the Brake Wear Sensor
The brake wear sensor is a small wire embedded in or mounted alongside the brake pad. When the brake pad wears down to a critical level, the sensor wire contacts the brake disc, completing an electrical circuit that triggers the brake wear warning light on the dashboard. A functioning wear sensor provides an early warning to replace brake pads before they become dangerously thin or damage the disc.
