The intake manifold gasket seals the joint between the intake manifold and the cylinder head. It prevents vacuum leaks and ensures that metered air from the throttle body reaches each cylinder evenly. A leaking intake manifold gasket causes rough idle, misfires, lean running conditions, poor performance, and a hissing sound from the engine bay.
