Description

Function of the Oil Pickup

The oil pickup tube draws oil from the bottom of the sump and delivers it to the oil pump for pressurisation and distribution. Its strainer screen prevents large debris from entering the pump and damaging internal components. A clogged or cracked oil pickup causes oil starvation, low oil pressure, engine noise, and can lead to bearing failure and engine seizure.
