Description
Function of the Top Shock Mounting
The top shock mounting (strut mount) connects the top of the shock absorber or strut to the vehicle’s body. It contains a bearing that allows the strut to pivot during steering and rubber elements that isolate road vibration from the cabin. A worn top mount causes clunking or knocking sounds over bumps, steering vibration, poor handling, and uneven tyre wear.
