Description
Function of the Tailgate Outer Handle
The tailgate outer handle is the exterior grip and release mechanism on the rear tailgate of the GWM P-Series bakkie. Pulling the handle operates the internal latch linkage that releases the tailgate so it can be lowered for loading and unloading the load bin. A broken, cracked, or seized handle prevents the tailgate from opening, causes the release to feel loose or unresponsive, or leaves the handle hanging loose from the tailgate skin. Fitting a new outer handle restores normal tailgate operation and tidy appearance.
