Description

Function of the Air Intake Hose

The air intake hose connects the air filter box to the turbocharger or throttle body, channelling filtered air into the engine. It must be airtight to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the filter and to maintain correct airflow readings from the MAF sensor. A cracked or loose intake hose causes rough idle, poor performance, check engine lights, and allows dust to enter and damage the engine.
