Timing Kit

The timing kit contains all the components needed to service the engine’s timing system — chain, tensioner, guides and sprockets. The timing system synchronises the crankshaft and camshaft, ensuring valves open and close at exactly the right moment. Replacing all timing components together is critical, as a single worn part can cause the entire system to fail. Timing failure on interference engines causes catastrophic valve-to-piston contact.

Fits the GW4G15 1.5 VVT petrol engine family, including the GW4G15B and GW4G15T turbo versions, as used in the GWM C10, GWM C20R, GWM C30, GWM C50, GWM CB150, GWM Florid, GWM Florid Cross, GWM M4, Haval H1, Haval H2 and Haval H6 1.5. GWM calls for the chain and tensioner to be inspected every 40 000 km and replaced by 200 000 km, or sooner if the chain rattles on cold start or the engine sets a camshaft correlation fault. On 2017 and newer builds GWM lists the crank sprocket only together with the crankshaft, so send us your VIN below and we confirm the set for your engine before you order.
