Description
Function of the Turbo Core Assembly
The turbo core (CHRA — Centre Housing Rotating Assembly) is the heart of the turbocharger, containing the turbine wheel, compressor wheel, and bearings. Replacing the core is a cost-effective alternative to fitting a complete new turbo, restoring full boost performance. A worn core causes reduced boost pressure, oil consumption through the turbo seals, blue or white smoke, and a whining noise that increases with RPM.
