Description
Function of the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor
The fuel rail pressure sensor monitors the fuel pressure within the common rail and sends this data to the ECU in real time. The ECU uses this information to adjust the high-pressure fuel pump output and injector timing for optimal combustion. A faulty sensor causes incorrect fuel pressure, hard starting, rough idle, poor performance, and check engine codes.
