Description

Function of the VVTi Gear

The VVTi (Variable Valve Timing intelligent) gear adjusts the camshaft timing relative to the crankshaft during engine operation. By advancing or retarding valve timing, it optimises power output at high RPM while maintaining fuel efficiency and smooth idle at low RPM. A faulty VVTi gear causes rough idle, poor acceleration, reduced fuel economy, engine rattling on startup, and a check engine light.
