Description
Function of the Water Temperature Sensor
The water temperature sensor monitors engine coolant temperature and sends data to the ECU and dashboard gauge. The ECU uses this to adjust fuel injection, idle speed, and fan activation. A faulty sensor causes incorrect temperature readings, poor cold-start performance, and a check engine light.
